What to see in Ibiza in one day

The island of Ibiza has small dimensions and an infinity of corners to see. Usually tourists spend at least 5 days on the island but it's possible that, unfortunately, you don't have much time to spend on Ibiza. If you can spend just a few days in Ibiza or you are going to Formentera and on the way you want to spend a day in Ibiza, we present you a list of things to do and see in Ibiza in one day.

First of all, we recommend you to rent a car or a motorcycle to see the island. It is very difficult to travel through the island by public transport, and if you want to use well your time, you do not doubt to rent a vehicle to move around easily. The network of roads on the island is good and well signed so you have no excuse.

Beaches

Surely it is the first thing you thought about. In a day in Ibiza, there is time to see some charming cove, but you would need all the summer to discover more than 100 marine corners that the ibizan coast hides.

Cala Bassa has an impressive blue water.

Since we have only one day we can recommend some of Ibiza's best beaches. One that never fails is Cala Comte, a wonderful beach with spectacular blue water. It also has a good parking, so there is no problem. The only problem with this cove is the amount of people that you will find there, so if you want you can go to Cala Codolar, a small beach nearby where you will be able to relax quietly. Another 5 minutes by car from Cala Comte you can also go to other gorgeous beaches: Cala Bassa, with a spectacular water, and Cala Tarida. All the the beaches mentioned have restaurants and/or stalls where you can eat with ocean views, to round out your day at the beach. A highlight of Cala Tarida and Cala Bassa is that they provide showers to wash the salt off.

If you prefer, you can also go to spend the morning at the two coves we love; the gorgeous Punta Galera, cove of rocks, and the small Cala Saladeta. The only problem with both is that they do not have stands to eat something, although you will be able to enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere with less people.

Eating in Ibiza

Eating in the restaurants on the beaches, what we explained before, is the perfect option, but at the same time it is possible that there are a lot of people, and that you don't have time to stay in line... In this case we suggest you to drive to San Rafael or Santa Gertrudis, two towns inside the island which offer a good section of restaurants with a good quality/price rate. Moreover, in that way you will know a little about rural Ibiza's charm; if you are going to be on the island for only one day, at least you will leave with a good aftertaste .

If in the evening you have to go to the port or the airport, we recommend you some charming beaches nearby. Sa Caleta, Cala Jondal or Cala Olivera are perfect corners to rest and allow the meal to settle before watching the sunset. We have to emphasize that, the first two beaches are closest to the airport; whereas Cala Olivera is the beach that is nearest to Ibiza Town.

Shopping and drinking in Ibiza

If you still have time, the day is still not over. Ibiza Town is one of the most lively places for nightlife in Ibiza. In the afternoon, you can go for a walk in the harbor, where you will find small, charming shops in the neighborhood of La Marina, where yuo can do some shopping. One of the must do visits is the old town of the city, known as Dalt Vila with its amazing walls, a World Heritage Site.

Walking in the neighborhood of La Marina in the city of Ibiza

In the summertime, La Marina's streets will go to soak up some color (and rhythm), as the day moves on to the night and people will fill the balconies. The noise that radiates from the streets, the music, the lineup of dance clubs, and discos enliven the port of Ibiza and customarily draws visitors. Another option for having a drink in on the island, is found in the West End of San Antonio, where there is an atmosphere very suited to the taste of British tourists.

We hope this advice has you well entertained for the whole day in Ibiza. I know that I forgot to mention a lot of things in this article; and there are many other excellent places that I left out of this list, I hope that you will meet them in another occasion. But even so, I hope that this was helpful to you.
